Willmar, Minn. - The Polars men's golf team competed at the UMAC Spring Event at Eagle Creek Golf Course on Saturday. Previously a match play event, the scoring has been modified this year to a two-man best ball, Stableford format (
explanation here). For those unfamiliar, "best ball" is when both teammates play their own ball, and the team records the lowest of the two scores each hole.
There were two flights of golfers with two Polars duos in each flight.
Adam Thomas and
Lucas Jorgenson combined their two scores of 35 and 32 on the two days of competition for a score of 67.
Nathan Halseth and
Carter Miller rounded out the first group with a two day score of 63.
Grant Oakland and
Ethan Erickson were paired in the second flight and they combined for a two day score of 53.
Angel Cottington and
Tristan Youngblood combined with scores of 18 and 22 for a two day total of 40.
The Polars men will be back in action on Thursday, April 23rd at the MLC Invite in New Ulm, Minnesota.
