The Crown College Athletic Department is committed to authentically honoring Jesus Christ. Our staff, coaches, and student-athletes are committed to pursuing excellence and developing a culture that values commitment to humility, hard work, and teamwork. We are dedicated to preparing leaders who will thrive in their faith, in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.
 I. As an academic institution and an NCAA Division III member, the Crown College Department of Athletics believes in the educational development and success of its student-athletes. We encourage the academic development of student-athletes and it is our desire to maintain academic averages, retention rates, and graduation rates equal to or greater than comparable averages for the student body as a whole. It is our belief that education and development is not limited to the classroom but can occur outside the traditional "walls" of the academia. From this perspective, the intercollegiate athletic experience is an opportunity for the athletic department staff to encourage the moral, physical, emotional, and social welfare of the student-athlete.
II. We look at the arena of athletic competition as a tool for the development of tomorrow's leaders. Athletics has the unique ability to put student-athletes in situations where they must learn to handle adversity, overcome challenges, compete with class, and work with teammates. The leadership focus of Crown College athletics teaches student-athletes principles of self-control, leading by example, sportsmanship, the power of positive influence, and personal sacrifice.Â
III. In the Crown College Department of Athletics, we realize that our student-athletes' collegiate careers are only four years long. However, the lessons learned can be used for a lifetime. Having a small part in assisting the development of our student-athletes in this way is why we do what we do.
