STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Mission:
The mission of the Crown College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to represent and support Crown College Athletics and its student-athletes. We are committed to honoring and glorifying God by using our God-given talents and abilities to encourage community and engagement between athletes, students, faculty, and staff at Crown College and the community at large.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Crown College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to embody student-athlete commitment to Crown College, Crown College Athletics, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) and the NCAA Division III. SAAC strives to support student-athletes by fostering community and engagement through athletic and academic opportunities available within the NCAA Division III and those offered at Crown College.
Vision:
The vision of the Crown College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to represent Crown College Student-Athletes by facilitating student-athlete growth in academics, athletics, faith, relationships, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
A. Representatives:
- 1) Attend monthly meetings. In order for attendance to be noted, it is the representative's responsibility to sign in. If unable to attend, he/she must inform the executive board and find a replacement to ensure representation from the team at the meeting.
- 2) Report to teammates and coaches with the issues presented at the meeting. Representatives should discuss these issues with their team.
- 3) Participation is necessary in order for the committee to be effective.
- 4) Outgoing senior representatives should bring their appointed replacements with them to the spring meetings.
- 5) Become informed and educated about various issues relevant to Crown and the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC).
B. Executive Board:
- 1) Prepare for general SAAC committee meetings in advance.
- 2) Attend SAAC events and act as a liaison between the UMAC and the campus.
- 3) Coordinate volunteer activities and increase involvement with the community outside of Crown.
- 4) Plan events such as Faculty/Staff Appreciation, National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Coach Appreciation, Game Promotions, and other relevant events.
