Huntley, Ill. - The Polars men's and women's golf teams traveled to Huntley Illinois for a two day tournament early this week to compete at the NCCAA Regional tournament. The women's team finished in 4th, and the men's in 6th.
On the men's side,
Adam Thomas,
Ryan Kardell, and
Nathan Halseth were all within four strokes of each other for the tournament. It was
Adam Thomas edging out Kardell by one stroke, and Halseth by four strokes to lead the team and take 12th in the tournament. Kardell finished tied for 13th, and Halseth tied for 19th. It is gearing up to be a fun Friday afternoon at the Presidents Cup against North Central, as the Polars finished just six strokes behind them for the tournament.
On the women's side, it was
Shelby Cash leading the Polars with an 8th place finish as the team finishes in 4th.
Kendall Clark and
Lexi Thomas also cracked the top 15 with impressive rounds for the both of them. Like the men, Thomas and Clark had their own friendly battle for second on the team, with Clark edging out Thomas by two strokes. Only four Polars golfers competed in the tournament, so it was
Allie Johnson rounding it out with a top 20 finish as well.Â
The Polars compete again on Friday, September 19th in a match against their UMAC rivals from North Central. The women have had the advantage so far, but the battle on the men's side has been tight this fall. It will be an exciting weekend, and all fans are welcome and encouraged to support the Polars golf teams.
