What seemed like a match made in heaven, Josh Prokosch and Crown College football, was actually made at CHAMPS in Maple Grove.  This, when you think about it, was a pretty appropriate place to recruit what would turn out to be the best offensive lineman in school history.

It was over burgers that Head football Coach John Auer made his pitch to Prokosch, and the future offensive MVP of the Storm thought that a Christian school where he could grow in his faith would be a perfect fit.

With a resume that includes a 2008 UMAC Lineman of the Year award, four All-Conference selections, including three first team awards, a 2006 Team Offensive MVP honor, and two seasons as team captain, perfect seems like the right adjective.

“Every single game” was a highlight for the 2009 graduate, but dumping ice water on Coach Auer after Crown had clinched their first winning season, homecoming against Northwestern, and scoring a touchdown on a broken leg top the list.

Since leaving Crown, Josh has garnered local and even national attention for his work as a wrestling coach at Blaine High School.  From his inclusion of a special needs manager to his team’s academic and athletic success, Josh has become a highly regarded teacher and coach.  The national media picked up a story of one of his wrestler’s showing extreme class by congratulating the dying father of the wrestler who had just beaten him in the championship match at the state tournament.

Josh credits his time at Crown College, and most importantly the relationships he made with his coaches, teammates, and a certain women’s soccer player (his now wife, Stephanie Prokosch), for helping him become the man he is today.
