Northfield, Minn. – The Polars Indoor track and field teams battled at the Ole Opener and set a handful of new school indoor records.
For the Crown women, Ella Dufault took 1st in the 1 Mile with a time of 5:23.87 and also took 3rd in the women's 1000m run with a school record time of 3:07.40. Camille Ring finished 3rd in the 60m hurdles and set a preliminary time of 9.37 seconds good for a school record.
Lindsey Morrison took 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2:27.33 seconds and 4th in the 1 mile with a time of 5:42.39. The Crown team of Grace Thompson, Ruby Kile, Ariana Klein, and Camille Ring set a school record in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:53.75.
Leading the Crown men, Caden Swoboda earned a 6th place finish in the 1000m run with a time of 2:40.33 a school record. He also finished 11th in the 1 mile with a time of 4:47.91.
Alexander Burnham took 4th in the shot put with a distance of 13.27m. Casey Struthers took 4th in the 800m with a time of 2:10.44. Gabriel Filter, Elijah Scott, and Andrew Johnson finished 7th, 8th, and 9th in the 800m run.
The Polars next head to the Jack Johnson Classic at the University of Minnesota before going on the road to River Falls, Wisconsin for the UWRF Winter Classic.
