St. Bonifacius, MN - Late first-half goal sparks Yellow Jackets past the Polars
The nightcap at Old National Bank Stadium on Saturday featured the Crown College women's soccer team taking on a tough UW-Superior squad, wrapping up a packed day of action in St. Bonifacius. The Polars held their own through much of the first half, defending well and limiting Superior's chances. But just before the break, the Yellow Jackets found an opening in the 40th minute, slipping in a goal that shifted the momentum heading into halftime. Crown came out of the break with solid energy and continued to hold strong defensively, but Superior eventually broke through again in the 68th minute. A third and final goal in the 73rd minute sealed the 3–0 result for the visiting Yellow Jackets.
Next up, Crown travels to Mankato on Tuesday, September 23, to take on Bethany Lutheran.
