Fuller Saves 10 Shots in Loss to Saints

Duluth, MN — Crown women's soccer continued its non-conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon, traveling north to face St. Scholastica in Duluth.

The Polars were met with pressure throughout the match as the Saints controlled much of the possession and created consistent opportunities in the attacking third. Crown's defensive unit was tested early and often, with goalkeeper Rachel Fuller helping keep the Polars within reach for much of the opening half.

St. Scholastica broke through in the 33rd minute to take a 1-0 lead before adding a second goal in the 40th minute, sending Crown into halftime trailing 2-0.

The Saints added their third goal shortly after the break, scoring in the 53rd minute to extend the lead. From there, Crown continued to work defensively against a St. Scholastica attack that kept pressure on the Polars throughout the second half.

Fuller finished the match with 10 saves, marking another strong effort in goal early in the season. Her performance helped limit further damage and gave Crown a steady presence in net despite the final result.

The 3-0 loss closes out Crown's early non-conference stretch as the Polars now turn their attention toward UMAC play. Crown will begin its conference season on Wednesday, Sept. 16, traveling to New Ulm, Minnesota, to face Martin Luther at 2 p.m.
