Deedon and Petkau Named Track and Field Athletes of the Meet, Polars Men Total 8 All-UMAC Awards

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the recipients of their 2025 men's outdoor track & field awards on Wednesday. The awards are nominated and voted on by the UMAC track & field head coaches as Crown totaled 8 awards.

Andrew Deedon was named Track Athlete of the Meet as he took 1st in three events, the 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, and the 4x800m relay), 2nd in the 800m, and 3rd in the 5000m totaling 36.5 points in track events. Steven Petkau was named Field Athlete of the Meet as he took 1st in the long jump and the triple jump totaling 20 points in field events for the Polars.

Crown had a total of 6 athletes named to the UMAC All-Conference team including Andrew Deedon (1500m, 3000m steeple, 4x800m, and 800m), Steven Petkau (long jump and triple jump), Alexander Burnham (shot put), Austin Carlson (800m and 4x800m), Caden Swoboda (4x800m), and Casey Struthers (4x800m).

This marks the first time that Crown has swept both the Track Athlete of the Meet and Field Athlete of the Meet awards in men's outdoor track and field in program history. Casey Struthers earned the All-Sportsmanship award for the Polars.
