Collegeville, MN – The Polars outdoor track and field teams competed in their first meet of the season at the SJU/CSB Optimistic Invitational on Friday.
Alexander Burnham highlighted the Crown men with a school record Discus throw of 35.14m. He also broke the school outdoor record in the shot put previously held by Bryce Koke with a throw of 14.57m. In the 4x100m Relay Jude McVety, Quin Peterson, Erick Delgadillo, Eddie Hallowanger set a school record with a time of 45.72.
Amani Adams broke the school record in the Javelin with a throw of 49.14m. Andrew Deedon had a pair of 3rd place finishes in the 1500m run and the 5000m run with Austin Carlson finishing right behind him in 4th in both of those events.
Ella Dufault won the 1500m run with a time of 4:52.98 breaking her own school record. Dufault also took third in the 800m run. Camille Ring took 6th in the 200m and 7th in the 100m run. Ruth Brueckner placed 3rd in the 1500m run.
The Polars track and field teams next head to the Hamline Invite next Saturday, April 5th starting at 11am.
