It was a win-or-go-home showdown in Des Moines, Iowa, as Crown's women's soccer team faced a familiar foe in North Central University for the NCCAA regional semifinals early Tuesday. With a spot in the regional final on the line, the Polars took control early, out shooting the Rams 12–5 in the first half. Despite their dominance, Crown trailed 0–1 at halftime after North Central capitalized on a key opportunity. Coming out of the break, the Polars responded in dominant fashion, scoring three unanswered goals from three different players. Hayden Peterson, Ellie Schanbacher, and Layla Kerr each found the back of the net to propel Crown to victory and keep their postseason hopes alive.
With the win, Crown advances to the NCCAA Regional Final, where they'll take on Faith Baptist at 11:30 a.m. for a chance to earn a berth to the national tournament.
