St. Bonifacius, MN - Womens soccer stifled by Eagles, lose 4-0.
As the wind continued to whip across Old National Bank Stadium, the Crown women's soccer team took the field in the second leg of Saturday's Homecoming soccer doubleheader. The opening 20 minutes remained scoreless as the Polars worked to contain a wind-assisted Northwestern attack. But the Eagles broke through with goals in the 20th and 23rd minutes, adding another just before halftime to take a 3-0 lead into the break. With the wind at their backs in the second half, Crown generated several scoring chances. Northwestern added a final goal to seal a 4-0 victory.
The Polars will look to regroup as they prepare for their next matchup on Tuesday against Morris at home.
