St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College women's soccer team was selected to finish fourth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in 2024, as the conference revealed its preseason coaches poll in an announcement Tuesday.
The Polars earned 22 points in the poll of UMAC coaches just two points behind the Bethany Lutheran Vikings. The poll is voted on by all the head coaches in the conference. Last season the Polars finished 9-11-3 with a conference record of 6-5-3 making the UMAC tournament as the No. 4 seed. Crown fell 2-1 in the UMAC tournament semifinal in a hard fought battle with UW-Superior.
Rachel Fuller returns to anchor the defense as the goalkeeper. She earned UMAC Rookie of the Year and UMAC Honorable Mention last season.
Lexi Shreve and
Ella Hollander both return to the mix as they lead the midfielders for the Polars. Shreve was Second Team All-UMAC in 2023 and Hollander was First Team All-UMAC in 2022.
The Polars will start their season with a home non-conference matchup with Augsburg at 7pm this Friday, August 30th.
