Duluth, MN - The Polars Track and Field Teams battled at the Lake Superior Challenge on Saturday.
Camille Ring totaled three first place finishes sweeping the 60m dash with a time of 8.18 seconds once again breaking her own school record. She finished first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.72 seconds also breaking another school record which Ring previously held. Ring took first in the 200m dash as well finishing with a time of 27.08 for her third school record on the day. Ring did not stop there as she competed in the long jump and finished in 4th with a distance of 4.63m.
Ella Dufault took first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:28.86. Dufault also took first place in the 1 Mile Run with a time of 5:22.12 breaking
Abby Pausch's previous school record of 5:25.71.
Abbie Hough and
Ruth Brueckner both earned third place finishes in their respective events. Brueckner in the 800m run and Hough in the 1000m run.
For the Polars men,
Andrew Deedon and
Caden Swoboda battled in the same events, the 800m run and the 1 mile run. Deedon finished in 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2:05.39 and finished 7th in the 1 Mile with a time of 4:48.26. Swoboda earned a 4th place finish in the 800m and a 6th place finish in the 1 Mile with a time of 4:44.28. Alexander Burnham competed in the shotput and the weight throw and ended with 5th and 6th place finishes.
Luke Klassen and Jude Dun both ran for the Polars as well.
Polars Track and Field will next head to the Meet of the Hearts at Carleton College on Saturday, February 10th with a start time of 11am.
