Minneapolis, Minn.- Polars Volleyball faced off against North Central on the road Friday night and lost 3-1.
Crown played the Rams close early in the first set leading NCU 8-7. The Polars and Rams continued to trade points until it was tied at 14 a piece. Then the Rams got out in front gaining momentum, taking the first set 25-21. North Central jumped out ahead early in the second set and ended up winning the second set 25-13.Â
The Rams jumped out in front in the third set leading the Polars 12-8. They continued to lead Crown 18-14 until the Polars went on a six-point run taking the 20-18 lead over North Central. The Rams were able to battle back and retook the lead 24-23, but after three consecutive points from the Polars they took the set win over the Rams 26-24. North Central took control in the fourth set jumping out to an early 10-7 lead. From that point forward North Central was able to build momentum and ultimately won the final set 25-13.Â
Emma Bottelberghe led the Polars with 12 kills on the night and added 12 digs. Crown had two players with double digit assists,
Brooke Rummel with 12 and
Abbey Underdahl with 11.
Ellie Fuller led the team with 13 digs on the night.Â
The Polars fall to 6-15 overall on the season and 1-12 in UMAC play and will host the #22 ranked University of Northwestern this Saturday, November 9th at 1:00pm for their final regular season match of the year.Â
