Northfield, Minn. - Polars Volleyball faced off with the Carleton College Knights Tuesday night, falling in three sets.
Crown started off the first set trailing 14-11. Carleton then went on a six-point run to extend their lead to 20-11. The Polars added a couple more points before the set ultimately ended at 25-13 in favor of Carleton. Carleton continued to control the momentum in the second set winning it 25-17 after a late effort to close the gap by the Polars. The Polars continued to show fight in the third set only trailing two with the score being 16-14. But after an eight-point run by Carleton they extended their lead to 24-14 and were able to close out the set. Only allowing one more point for the Polars, making the final score of the third set 25-15.
Alyssa Heagney led the Polars in kills with seven,
Brooke Rummel added 11 assists, and
Abbey Underdahl added four assists of her own.
Madilyn Smith had two blocks on the night, and
Ellie Fuller led the way with 15 digs,
Emma Bottelberghe added 10 digs.
The Polars move to 5-8 on the season and will next head on the road to take on the University of Northwestern on Tuesday, October 15th at 7:00 PM.
