St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Polars women's soccer team faced off with the Bethany Lutheran Vikings on Wednesday evening and fell 2-0.
The Vikings got on the board in the 6th minute after a deflection from a Polars player and a second opportunity that found the back of the net. Crown had several opportunities as they totaled 9 shots in the first half. The Polars held even with Bethany Lutheran for the remaining time in the half as the score rested at 1-0.
The second half was a battle back and forth and Crown once again had a few opportunities where a couple solid saves from the Vikings keeper kept Crown from scoring. The Vikings tacked on one more score in the 76th minute on an excellent shot that went up and over
Rachel Fuller to put Crown down 2-0. The final score stayed there.
Crown totaled 15 shots compared to 20 for Bethany Lutheran.
Ashley Pierce finished with 4 shots on goal on the offensive end.
Rachel Fuller notched 2 saves in goal in 90 minutes of play.
The Polars fall to 2-5-1 overall and 2-1-1 in UMAC play and will next head to North Central this Saturday, October 5th for a matchup with the Rams at 1pm.
