New Ulm, Minn. - The Polars women's soccer team took on Martin Luther on Saturday and came out on top 5-0.
After the first twenty minutes of scoreless play the Polars got on the scoreboard with a goal from
Ashley Pierce in the 23rd minute. Crown found the back of the net two more times in the first half both of the goals coming off the foot of
Lexi Shreve to take the 3-0 lead heading in at halftime.
The scoring kept coming as Shreve knocked in her third goal of the day to complete a hat trick. In the 69th minute
Layla Kerr added one more goal to give Crown the 5-0 lead and eventually the victory. As a team the Polars out shot the Knights 31-13 with 15 shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Rachel Fuller added another clean sheet on the week with 6 saves on the day.
Crown moves to 5-6-2 on the season and 5-2-2 in UMAC play which puts them in third place overall in the conference. The Polars will next return home Saturday, October 26th for 1:15pm contest with North Central University.
