St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Polars women's soccer took on the Minnesota Morris Cougars on Wednesday night and came out on top 1-0.
The Polars came out firing early with a shot from
Abigail Shull in the 6th minute that she placed perfectly over the goalie into the top left corner of the net making the score 1-0 Crown. From that point forward defense played a big role in the win for the Polars as neither team scored for the rest of the match with the final score staying 1-0.
The Polars outshot the Cougars with 12 shots on goal to the Cougars zero. Crown allowed just allowed just 4 total shots with none of them being on goal as goalkeeper
Rachel Fuller earned another clean sheet.
This win over the Cougars moves Crown to 4-6-2 on the season and 4-2-2 in UMAC play. Crown will continue UMAC play this Saturday, October 19th at 3:30 PM on the road against Martin Luther College.
