St. Paul, Minn. - The Polars Women's Soccer team battled with the Northwestern Eagles on Saturday and finished in a 1-1 draw.
The first half saw the Polars jump out in front 1-0 after a goal from
Ashley Pierce on an excellent ball in from
Emma Domka in the 5th minute of play. The Eagles saw a few more opportunities wth 6 total shots in the half. Crown held the 1-0 lead after 45 minutes of play.
The Crown defense was at work in the second half as the Eagles maintained a majority of the possession time and totaled 15 shots in the second half. With less than 9 minutes remaining in the contest the Eagles finally snuck one past the Polars goalkeeper
Rachel Fuller to even up the score at 1-1. The score would finish at a 1-1 draw.
Fuller totaled 8 saves in goal with only the one goal allowed. Pierce scored her 3rd goal of the season.
The Polars move to 3-6-2 and 3-2-2 in UMAC play and will next return home to face off with the Minnesota-Morris Cougars on Wednesday, October 16th at 7pm.
