Menominee, WI. - The Polars Track and Field teams competed at the Warren Bowles Open on Saturday.
On the Men's side there were 8 athletes that competed. Austin Carlson led the way for the Crown runners placing 2nd in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:47.63.
In the 60 meter dash qualifier Ryan Swecker finished 16th in the qualifier with a time of 7.41 seconds. Seth E. Johnson ran a time of 7.70 good for 20th. Malek Folston ran the 200m and 400m dash. He placed 23rd in the 200m with a time of 23.94 and placed 11th in the 400m final with a time of 55.22.
Steven Petkau jumped for Crown once again finishing 15th in the long jump with 5.66m. Petkau also placed 5th in the triple jump with 12.50m.
A number of Polars women competed on Saturday with Abby Pausch and Ruth Brueckner leading the way. Abby Pausch placed 1st in the 1 mile with a time of 5:32.27. Ruth Brueckner nabbed a second place finish in the 600 meter run once again breaking the school record with a time of 1:42.93.
The Crown women also placed 4th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:33.82. The group consisting of Ellie Schanbacher, Abby Pausch, Anna Anderson Sanchez, and Ruth Brueckner set the Crown record once again.
The Polars will have a weekend off before competing at the Meet of the Hearts at Carleton College on Saturday, February 11th.
