St. Bonifacius, Minn. – It was all smiles for the men's and women's soccer teams on Tuesday night as both teams hosted first year program Lake Superior College for exhibition matches at KleinBank Stadium.

The women kicked off the evening with a 3-0 victory over the IceHawks that saw the Storm dominate possession and shots.  Emily Kirby got the scoring started in the first half and dominated possession in the midfield, staking Crown to a 1-0 halftime lead.

The Storm would add two more goals in the second half through freshman Katelyn Carter and Keisha Prafke.  Carter's cool finish in the bottom right corner made the score 2-0, while Prafke scored off the underside of the bar to cap the evening.

The men's game finished 4-0 in favor of the hosts, with Ger Jones netting two goals and assisting on Crown's other two goals to lead the team to the season opening win.

Cristian Olarte had the night's best finish with a sliding effort after Jones was played through and then fired across the six yard box to open the scoring.

Bradley Ray almost got onto the score sheet, hitting the bar from 25 yards out with a spectacular free kick that somehow stayed out after ricocheting off the keeper.

Jones would get the next two goals to open the second half, scoring from close range after Olarte had his effort saved, and then smartly finishing inside the far post with the outside of his foot on a breakaway.

Josiah Steinkamp, who had a goal ruled out for offsides in the first half, finished off the scoring with an incredible left-footed finish into the side netting in the 82^nd minute.

The Crown women will travel to Milwaukee this weekend for games against Alverno and Mt. Mary, while the Storm men will to Grinnell College and Carleton College on the weekend for their first two regular season games.
