St. Paul, MN — Crown men's soccer traveled to St. Paul on Thursday to take on the Hamline Pipers in a non-conference match up.
The Polars leaned on a steady defensive effort throughout the first half, holding Hamline scoreless through the opening 45 minutes despite consistent offensive pressure from the Pipers. Freshman goalkeeper Gavin Egan made his first start between the posts and was tested early and often, coming up with several key saves to keep the match level at the break.
Hamline broke through in the 60th minute to take a 1-0 lead and added an insurance goal in the 83rd to close out a 2-0 result.
With the result, the Polars move to 0-2-1 on the season. Crown will hit the road again this weekend, traveling to Greenville University on Saturday for a noon kickoff.
