Power Surge Can’t Slow Polars in Prime-Time Sweep

St Bonifacius, MN — Crown volleyball closed out day one of the Minneapolis Invite in style Friday night, powering past Great Lakes Christian in straight sets despite a campus-wide power surge during the evening.

The young Polars brought the energy from the opening serve and never let it fade. Set one featured the closest battle of the night, with the two teams deadlocked at 10-10 before Crown created separation. Freshman outside hitter Lily Duquaine delivered back-to-back kills to spark a 4-0 run, giving the Polars the momentum they needed to take the opening set, 25-19.

Crown carried that spark directly into the second set and never looked back. Fellow freshman Lauren Burnett capped an 8-1 opening run with a pair of kills as the Polars took control early. With the home crowd fully engaged, Crown dominated the set from start to finish on the way to a 25-12 win.

The Polars stayed in rhythm in the third set, feeding off the energy in the gym and completing the three-set sweep to finish the night on a high note.

Crown will return to the floor Saturday to wrap up the Minneapolis Invite with two more match ups, taking on Trinity Bible College at 12 p.m. and Spurgeon College at 2 p.m.
