Superior, WI — Crown volleyball traveled north and across state lines on Wednesday night for a UMAC match up against the University of Wisconsin-Superior, falling to the Yellowjackets in straight sets.
Superior claimed the match by scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-18 in a midweek conference contest. Despite the result, the Polars saw solid contributions from several key players throughout the night.
Lauren Burnett once again paced the Crown offense, finishing with 8 kills to lead the team. Casey Story also provided an offensive spark with 6 kills of her own as the Polars worked to find rhythm against a tough Superior squad.
From the setter position, Faith Sperl contributed in multiple ways, recording 2 service aces while adding 8 assists. Kate Stevenson matched that total with 8 assists, helping direct the Crown attack throughout the evening.
The Polars will now have some time away from competition before returning to the floor on October 23 at 7 p.m. when they travel to downtown Minneapolis for another UMAC match up.
