St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) released the recipients of this year's Outdoor Track & Field Awards on Wednesday afternoon. The UMAC Champion Polars had 13 athletes recognized, the most of any school in the conference.
Camille Ring highlighted the award winners, earning Top Scoring Athlete of the Meet honors at the UMAC Championship. She placed second in the 100m, first in the 100m hurdles, second in the 200m, sixth in the long jump, and was part of the second-place 4x100m relay team.
Lindsey Morrison earned a voted-on award, being named Track Athlete of the Meet. She recorded three first-place finishes in the 400m, 800m, and 4x400m relay, while also adding a fourth-place finish in the 1,500m.
Eight more Polars earned All-Conference honors based on podium finishes and top relay performances. Ruth Brueckner was named All-Conference in the 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 4x400m relay, and 4x800m relay, including first-place finishes in both relays. Callie Dufault and Gracelyn Foster also earned All-Conference recognition as members of the first-place 4x800m relay team. Ella Dufault rounded out the relay squad and also claimed a first-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Brayli Reimer earned All-Conference honors in the 100m hurdles, 400m, 400m hurdles, and 4x400m relay. She captured first place in both the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. She was joined on the relay team by Grace Thompson, who also earned All-Conference recognition.
Two field athletes rounded out the 10 All-Conference honorees. Olivia Stanley placed third in the long jump to earn All-Conference status and was also part of the second-place 4x100m relay team. Abbie Hough earned All-Conference honors with a second-place finish in the pole vault. She was also selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team for her character and attitude toward teammates and competitors.
Finally, Head Coach Grant DeWitt and assistant coach Anna Anderson Sanchez were named UMAC Coaching Staff of the Year. DeWitt has continued to build a strong program, leading the Polars to another UMAC Championship.
