New Ulm, Minn. - The men's tennis team traveled to Martin Luther on Thursday for their second conference match of the season, edging out the Knights 4-3 to move to 1-1 in conference play.

The Polars set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. David Comings and Ean Clarke earned a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, followed by another 6-4 win from Matt Comings and Dawson Richardson at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point. Brevin Butler and Gavin Leuthold completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory in the No. 3 spot.

In singles play, David Comings delivered a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win to give the Polars their second point. Clarke added to the lead with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles. Matt Comings secured the match for the Polars with a 6-1, 6-4 win in the No. 3 singles position.

Martin Luther claimed the final three singles matches, but the early momentum from the Polars proved to be enough as they sealed their first conference victory of the season.

The men's tennis team returns to action on Monday, April 20th at Northwestern.
