Women's Tennis Wins Second Straight Game in Conference Play with 5-2 Victory Over BLC

Waconia, Minn. – The women's tennis team defeated Bethany Lutheran 5–2 on Friday, improving to 2–0 in UMAC play.

The Polars set the tone early by sweeping doubles play to secure the doubles point. Maya Wuotila and Xeng Her earned a 6–2 win at No. 1 doubles, followed by a 6–1 victory from Amy Eckstrom and Reagan Cocking at No. 2.

Bethany Lutheran responded in singles with two early wins to briefly take a 2–1 lead. Wuotila answered for the Polars at No. 3 singles, winning in straight sets, 6–2, 6–3, to even the match at 2–2.

Elyse Steffen delivered a key performance at No. 4 singles. After dominating the first set 6–0, Steffen dropped the second 6–4 before regrouping to win a 10–7 tiebreaker, giving Crown a 3–2 advantage.

Reagan Cocking and Kayla Bultena secured the final two points by default, sealing the 5–2 victory for the Polars.

Crown will make up its match against Wisconsin–River Falls on Wednesday, April 15, after it was previously postponed. The Polars will then continue conference play on Friday, April 17, when they travel to Martin Luther.
