Softball Stays Hot in the Sunshine State

Box Score 1 Naples, FL - Softball continues to impress on first day in Florida, winning two games versus Bethany College and Elms College.

Brooklyn Riley started in the circle for the Polars in game one. After two scoreless innings, Crown broke through in the top of the 3rd with some small ball and a 2-run single by Maria Lilienthal. Bethany answered back in the bottom half of the inning with a 2-run double from Olivia Kidd. Two more runs were produced by both offensives in the 4th, making the score 7-4. Megan Cryer hit her first career home run to put the Polars up 4 runs. Fellow freshman, Sophie Monsman, singled in the 7th to push the lead to 5. The Bison's short 2-run rally was not enough as the Polars took game 1, 9-6. Crown took game two as well which ended short due to a medical emergency.

Polars are now 7-2 in the early season, and will continue their spring break trip with two games tomorrow against University of Saint Joseph at 8am CST and Alfred State College at 10am CST.
