Owatonna, Minn. – The Polars men's tennis team hosted the Storm from Simpson College on Thursday, earning a decisive 5-2 victory.
The Polars secured the doubles point with strong performances across the board. David Comings and Ean Clarke opened with a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Matt Comings and Dawson Richardson dominated their match 6-0 to clinch the point.
In singles play, Ean Clarke continued his strong stretch at No. 2, battling to a 6-3, 6-7 victory. Matthew Comings, Gavin Leuthold, and Brevin Butler each added singles wins to help the Polars claim five of the seven possible points on the day.
The Polars return to action Friday as they travel to Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in search of their second consecutive win. They will then be off until March 16, when they head to Orlando, Florida, for spring break competition, where they are scheduled to play five matches.
