Cedarville, Ohio - The Polars indoor track and field teams battled at the NCCAA Indoor Championships over the weekend and the Crown women took 5th as a team.
For the Polars women, Camille Ring once again broke her own record in the 60m with a time of 8.02. Ring also set a new record time of 9.12 in the 60m hurdles earning a 2nd place finish earning the All-American award. The Crown relay team of Grace Thompson, Ruby Kile, Ariana Klein, and Camille Ring set a school record 4x200 meter relay time of 1:51.14.
Ruth Brueckner took second place earning an All-American placement in the 800m and setting a new school record with the time of 2:20.5. Lindsey Morrison and Ella Dufault both placed top ten in the 800m.
The Crown relay team of Lindsey Morrison, Mia Arroyo, Ruth Brueckner, and Ella Dufault took 1st in the 4x800m relay setting a school record with a time of 9:38.31 as national champions in that event. The same relay team also took 2nd in the Distance Medley Relay setting a new school record time.
For the Crown men, Caden Swoboda ran the 800 meter for the Crown men and finished in 9th. The Crown relay team of Swoboda, David Tuttle, Elijah Scott, and Gabriel Filter took 6th in the 4x800m relay. Alexander Burnham took 8th in the shot put.
The Polars will next compete at the Snowshoe Open on February 20th.
