Minneapolis, Minn. - The Polars indoor track and field teams battled at the Jack Johnson Classic at the University of Minnesota on Friday afternoon.
For the Crown men, Caden Swoboda led the Polars in the 800m with a time of 2:00.95. David Tuttle set a personal best time of 9:41.38 in the 3000m run and the 800m with a time of 2:08.26. Andrew Johnson, Evan Gibson, Eddie Hallowanger, Quin Peterson, and Jude Dunn all set personal bests on the day.
Nate Tomlinson finished the 200m with a time of 24.10 and led the Polars runners in the 60m dash with a time of 7.44. Alexander Burnham finished the shot put with a distance of 13.00m and the weight throw with a distance of 11.96m.
For the Polars women, Ruth Brueckner broke her own record in the 800m running a time of 2:21.31. The Crown women also set the school record in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:23.29, the four runners included Lindsey Morrison, Callie Dufault, Ella Dufault, and Ruth Brueckner.
Camille Ring took 2nd in the 60m hurdles, 4th in the 60m dash, and 4th in the 200m. Grace Thompson set a personal best time in the 60m and took 6th in the 200m. Ariana Klein jumped a distance of 4.52m in the long jump. Gabby Fawcett finished 7th in the shot put and 12th in the weight throw.
The Polars Indoor Track and Field teams will next compete at the UW-River Falls Winter Classic on February 7th.
