Waseca, Minn. - The Polars Golf teams traveled to Waseca for the Viking Invite Tuesday at Lakeside Golf Course. Individuals succeeded as
Kendall Clark wins the tournament for the women and
Adam Thomas finishes in 2nd for the men.
For the men, scores were tight and consistent again as a team. Following
Adam Thomas's 74,
Nathan Halseth finishes with a 79, and
Lucas Jorgenson with an 83.
Carter Miller was just five strokes back of Jorgenson with an 88.
Grant Bennett joined the teams scoring for the first time this year, shooting a 94. Each golfer was six strokes or less behind the person in front of them, showing the competitiveness, consistency, and growth you would hope to see from a young team. There is a lot to look forward to for this team.
On the women's side, the Polars battled yet again near the top of the leader board.
Kendall Clark had another impressive round, winning her second tournament of the season with an 84.
Shelby Cash was only five strokes behind her with an 89, and
Lexi Thomas right there with a 91. The team finished second and were rounded out by
Ashley Larson and
Allie Johnson. After taking second at the UMAC Preview, the women's team is on pace in their preparation for a high finish in the conference championship.
