St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the recipients of their 2025 baseball awards on Wednesday and Crown had 6 Polars named. The awards are nominated and voted on by the UMAC baseball head coaches.
Jacob Van Dam was named 1st team All-UMAC as a starting pitcher after setting a number of career pitching records for the Polars. Van Dam finished the season with a 3.94 ERA in 75.1 innings pitched tallying 55 strikeouts.
Ryan Vondracek was also named 1st team All-UMAC as a starting pitcher after setting an impressive stat line with an ERA of 2.56 a school record in 63.1 innings pitched tallying 62 strikeouts.
Kyler Thruston was named 1st team All-UMAC as an infielder after finishing the season with a .375 batting average totaling 57 hits including 8 triples and 40 runs batted in.
Bryan Gerbers was named 1st team All-UMAC after batting .359 on the season with 56 hits, 13 doubles, 8 home runs, and a team leading 56 runs batted in.
Tyler Olson and
Aidan Volk-Specht were named honorable mention All-UMAC in their respective positions. Olson as an outfielder and Volk-Specht as a starting pitcher. Olson had a .333 batting average on the season and totaled 12 doubles. Volk-Specht pitched 52.1 innings and totaled 53 strikeouts with an ERA of 6.36.
Drew Girtz was named to the UMAC All-Sportsmanship team for Crown.
