Superior, WI – The Polars women's track and field team competed at the UMAC Indoor Championships this weekend and took home their 1st ever UMAC Indoor Championship with 138 total points.
Camille Ring racked up the points for the Crown women as she took 1st place in both the 60m hurdles and the 60m dash with times of 8.23 and 9.55. Ring also placed 3rd in the 200m as she finished with a time of 27.71 and 5th in the long jump with a distance of 4.62m. Ella Dufault earned her share of the teams points as she won the 3000m and the 5000m with times of 10:43.36 and 18:44.81, a school record. Dufault also placed 2nd in the 1 Mile run with a time of 5:19.07.
Ruth Brueckner won the 800m run with a time of 2:24.64, took 2nd in the 400m, then took 3rd in the 1 Mile run, and 6th in the 3000m run. Mia Arroyo earned three 4th place finishes in the 800m, 1 Mile run, and the 3000m run.
The Women's Distance Medley Relay team of Brueckner, Dufault, Lindsey Morrison, and Mia Arroyo took first with a time of 13:25.20. Layla Kerr took 8th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.20m. The Polars 4x400m relay team took 3rd place as well.
A historic day for Crown College Athletics as the Polars finish the indoor season on top of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference marking the school's first ever UMAC Championship in Track & Field.
