St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars women's basketball team faced off with the North Central Rams on Saturday and came out victorious 63-54.
Crown jumped out to an early 8-3 lead after three point baskets from
Brekyn Hanson,
Jacee Glasgow, and
Isabelle Sager. North Central battled back and took an 11-10 lead heading into the second quarter. The Polars found a spark on the offensive end of the floor when
Brayli Reimer scored nine points and pushed the Polars out in front 32-26 at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Polars outscore the Rams 17-14 with Sager, Reimer, and Glasgow adding to the scoreboard. The Rams cut the Crown lead to just 5 points with 2:06 remaining in the game, but the Polars were able to fight off the comeback and pull away with the victory.
Brayli Reimer scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds along with 4 steals.
Isabelle Sager scored 15 points and tallied 10 rebounds for another double double. Crown shot 41.4% as a team going 23-56 from the field and 34.6% from three-point range going 9-26.
The Polars move to 3-18 on the season and 2-8 in UMAC play and will next head on the road to face off with Martin Luther on Wednesday, February 12
th at 7:15pm.
