St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars men's basketball team faced off with Northland College on Saturday and came out on top by a score of 91-55.
Northland jumped out to an early 8-6 lead just three minutes into the contest. From that point forward the Polars found the bottom of the net as Crown shot over 60% from the field in the first half as a team. Crown led by a score of 55-24 after knocking down 22 baskets in the half.
John Grigsby contributed 19 points. The second half was fairly even with the Polars outscoring the Lumberjacks 36-31. Crown went on to win by a score of 91-55.
John Grigsby led the scoring for Crown with 22 points. Grigsby went 8-11 from the field and 3-5 from three-point range.
Tyler Smith led the rebounding with 11 rebounds and totaled 4 blocks in the contest. As a team the Polars shot 52.9% from the field going 36-68.
The Polars move to 13-10 on the season and 6-6 in UMAC play and will next head on the road to take on UW-Superior on Wednesday, February 19
th at 5:30pm.
