Cotten's 16 Leads Polars to 71-56 Victory over Trinity Bible

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars defended their home court Thursday night with a 71–56 victory over the Lions of Trinity Bible College, pulling away late behind Sydney Cotton's 16 points.

The first quarter was tight throughout, featuring three ties before an 8–1 run to close the period gave the Polars a 19–12 lead. The second quarter followed a similar pattern, with the margin staying between four and eight points. Trinity trimmed the deficit late and trailed just 35–31 at halftime.

Avery Youngblood opened the second half with a three-pointer to stretch the lead to seven, but the third quarter became a battle of runs. The Lions immediately cut the margin to two before the Polars responded, pushing the advantage to 12 near the one-minute mark. Crown entered the fourth quarter up 55–46.

The Polars put the game away in the fourth, using a 15–3 run over the first six minutes to build a 22-point lead. Trinity narrowed the gap late, but Crown secured the 71–56 home win.

Season-leading scorer Brayli Reimer exited early after logging just 20 minutes but still contributed 13 points and five rebounds. Sydney Cotton led the team with 16 points, shooting 3-of-5 from deep and adding six rebounds. Youngblood knocked down five threes on her way to 15 points and tallied six assists. Isabelle Sager collected seven rebounds and scored 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting and 3-of-4 at the line. As a team, the Polars capitalized on Trinity's 19 turnovers, converting them into 19 points, including an 11–6 edge in fastbreak scoring.

Crown returns to action Saturday when they travel to Ankeny, Iowa, to face Faith Baptist. The Polars will host Lakeland University on December 19 before heading to California over Christmas break for two games. Conference play begins January 10 at Martin Luther.
