Women's Basketball Defeated by St. Scholastica

Duluth, Minn. – Polars fell 54-79 at St. Scholastica on Saturday night.

Isabelle Sager and Brayli Reimer started the game on fire, leading Crown to an early lead. St. Scholastica then tied the game with four and a half minutes left in the first quarter, and would hold the lead the rest of the game. The Polars stayed in the game in the first quarter, trailing by just four points as the quarter ended. It was St. Scholastica this time starting the quarter hot and jumped to a quick eighteen point lead. The Polars were able to cut the lead to thirteen by the end of the half and trailed 26-39 at halftime. The Polars proved in the third quarter that the first half score wasn't reflective of how competitive most of the half was. Their defense was lock down as they held St. Scholastica to just 13 third quarter points. The Polars did win the third quarter 14-13 to keep the game within striking distance. St. Scholastica erupted in the fourth quarter for twenty seven points, a pace the Polars just could not keep up with. The Polars lost 79-54 after being competitive the majority of the game.

Crown's box score was extremely balanced again in the scoring column as no player scores in double digit points but seven players scored at least five. Isabelle Sager and Kate Arneson each had 9 points as Arneson went 3-3 from behind the arc. Brayli Reimer and Morgan Bednarek each finished with 8. Reimer also had 6 assists and 5 boards with 3 steals. Both Avery Youngblood and Brekyn Hanson finished with 6 points, each hitting 2 three pointers.

The Polars travel on Tuesday to Augsburg University for a 7:00pm game at Si Melby Hall.
