Men's Basketball Moves to 2-1 with 100 Point Performance at Maranatha Baptist

Watertown, WI – The Polars found an offensive spark on Saturday night at Marantha Baptist University, winning 101-71.
 
Marantha scored on their first possession of the game, which would be their only lead of the game. The Polars quickly responded and opened up a quick double digit lead led by Anthony Knight who had 8 quick points. The Polars scored 52 points in the first half and led by 21 points on 59% shooting from the floor and 66% from behind the arc. The Polars continued their efficiency in the second half, quickly pushing the lead 30. The Sabercats did put together one run in the second half to bring the lead down to 20, but the Polars responded with a run of their own to bring the lead back up 30, which is where the lead would stay. 14 Polars players entered the game for the Polars in the game with 13 of them scoring. Tristan Youngblood led the scoring with 15 points. Elliot Offner and PJ Ebeling both had 13 points off the bench. Anthony Knight finished with 12 points. Tyler Smith led in the rebounding category with 12. The Polars shot 54.8% from the floor and 44% from three. Crown scored 17 points off turnovers and 19 second chance points. Almost half of their points came from bench players with 51 bench points. The Polars also had 54 of their points in the paint. The Polars dominated every area of the game to win 101-71.
 
The Polars play again on Sunday as they travel to St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN for a 3:00pm start time. They then play again on Monday at Minnesota State University, Mankato before returning home on Wednesday to host Concordia College (Minn.).
