Men's Basketball Falls to St. Olaf 60-81

Northfield, Minn. - The Polars played their second of three straight games at St. Olaf Sunday, losing by a score of 81-60 on the road at St. Olaf. 

Anthony Knight set the tone again for the Polars, scoring 10 of the Polars first 21 points of the game. The game was back and forth early with 4 total lead changes and 6 ties in the first half. Colby Deluce also had a big first half, scoring 10 more first half points as Knight and Deluce combine for 20 of the 31 first half points. The Polars shot nearly 43% from the floor and 38% from three in the first half and trailed by just 7 points. Anthony Knight and Levi Royston got the scoring in the second half scoring 9 points between the two of them and led the Polars to a 40-40 tie early in the half. The Oles responded with a 13-3 run, and outscored the Polars 41-20 in the final 17 minutes of the game. This led to a 81-60 loss to a tough MIAC opponent for the Polars.

Anthony Knight led the team with 16 points, adding 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Colby Deluce finished the game with 10 points as the only other Polar to score in double digits. Levi Royston had 9 points and 2 boards with a steal. Tyler Smith was dominant again on the defensive end of the court with 2 blocks and a steal, hauling in 9 rebounds. PJ Ebeling led the bench in scoring with 6 on 3-4 shooting. The Polars also outscored the Oles 9-1 in fast break points. 

The Polars play their third straight game, and third game out of four in a five day stretch on Monday as the travel to Minnesota State University, Mankato for an exhibition game. Then on Wednesday, they host Concordia College (Minn.) at 5:00pm to finally play their first home game of the season.
