St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Crown Women's Soccer team took on Macalester on the road for a mid-week match on Wednesday night and fell by a score of 5-0.
After the first 5 minutes of play the Polars found themselves down 1-0. After 14 shots and 9 saves from goalkeeper Rachel Fuller the Polars defensive efforts kept Macalester from scoring over the majority of the half as the score at half read 1-0. Crown was held to no shots in the first half.
Macalester extended the lead to start the second half as they scored three goals to take the 4-0 lead. The Polars were able to get a few opportunities but ultimately fell by a score of 5-0. Fuller totaled 16 saves on the night. Emma Domka and Ashley Pierce each had 1 shot on goal for Crown.
Crown will look to find their first win of the season this Saturday, September 7th at home as they take on UW-River Falls at 12pm.
