Morris, Minn. - Crown Men's Soccer took on the University of Minnesota-Morris on Tuesday evening and came out with their third straight victory in UMAC play, beating the Cougars 7-3.
The Polars started off hot scoring three early goals in the first twenty minutes of play.
Jose Lovera started the Polars off scoring in the 12th minute off a ball in from
Pedro Silveira. In the 15th minute Silveira assisted on another goal, with
Juan Fernando Arriaga driving one into the back of the net. The Polars finished off the hot start with a goal from
Ashton Hosler with assists from
Timmy Jackson and
Joaquin Silva to take a 3-0 lead. The Polars scored one last time in the first half with a goal from
Timmy Jackson in the 30th minute and the score at the half read 4-0 Crown in front.
The Polars started scoring again early in the second half with the second goal from
Timmy Jackson in the 47th minute. Morris then responded with their first goal of the match in the 52nd minute to cut the lead to 5-1. The Polars and Cougars would then continue to go back and forth for the rest of the second half with each team scoring two more goals.
Sebastian Bocanegra and
Serni Batalla scored the goals for the Polars as Arriaga, Hosler, and
Marcus Banegas earned assists.
Leo Roque totaled 3 saves in goal for the Polars.
The Polars will next face a non-conference opponent at home against Buena Vista University Thursday, September 26th with a 6:00 PM start.
