St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College cross country teams were selected to finish third n the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in 2024, as the conference revealed its preseason coaches polls in an announcement Thursday.
The Polars earned 35 points in the men's cross country poll just six points behind the Martin Luther Knights. The poll is voted on by all the head coaches in the conference. Crown finished fourth at the 2023 championship with 121 points. The Polars men also earned a first place vote. They return three of their top runners in
Austin Carlson,
Andrew Deedon, and
Caden Swoboda.
The Crown women earned 36 points in the poll just seven points from the Martin Luther College Knights. Crown finished third at the 2023 championship with 113 points. They return two of their top runners from last season in
Ella Dufault and
Lily Bandy.
Ruth Brueckner also returns to the cross country team after a one year hiatus.
The Polars will start their season with a trip to Moorhead, Minnesota at the Dragons Twilight starting at 7:30pm on Friday, September 13th.
