Morris Scores 20 Points, Polars Fly by Pilots

Ellendale, ND - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the Providence Pilots on Friday and came out on top 80-52.

Crown jumped out to a 12-6 lead halfway through the first quarter and led after one by a score of 17-10. Mya Morris led the scoring in the second quarter totaling 11 points in the quarter, 9 of them from behind the arc. After a halftime lead the Polars continued to stretch the lead all the way to 23 points with a Elli Hemann triple. Crown finished the 4th quarter with a solid defensive effort and took home the 80-52 win.

Morris led the scoring with 20 points, 18 of them from three point range. She also added 7 rebounds. McKenzie latzke totaled 17 points and 5 rebounds. Isabelle Sager totaled 10 points and 7 rebounds. Hemann also hit the double digit threshold for points with 13. Sydney Cotten totaled 7 assists to lead the Polars.

As a team Crown shot 41.9% from the field going 31-74 and 32.4% from three point range going 12-37. Crown totaled 22 points in the paint and 19 points off of turnovers.

The Polars will next play in the NCCAA North Region Final set for 1pm tomorrow Saturday, March 9th against the winner of North Central and Trinity Bible.
