Women's Basketball Drops NCCAA DII North Region Final to Rams

Ellendale, ND - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the North Central Rams on Saturday and fell 66-49 in the NCCAA North Region Final.

The Rams got out to an early 8-3 lead, but Crown scored a few buckets to answer as Brayli Reimer brought the Polars to within 3 points twice in the first quarter. With 8:12 to go in the second quarter Crown took their first lead of the game after a triple from McKenzie Latzke. A few lead changes later the Rams were out in front 31-23 at the half. 

The eight point lead by the Rams was extended over the course of the 3rd quarter to 11 points. Crown battled to within 9 points a few times in the 4th quarter but the Rams ended up on top 66-49. Crown struggled shooting in the late goings as they went 4-15 from the field in the 4th quarter.

Brayli Reimer scored 21 points on 7 made baskets and 7 made free throws. Latzke scored 9 points to follow. Mya Morris, Isabelle Sager, and Reimer all totaled 5 rebounds each. Reimer and Sydney Cotten both had 2 steals.

As a team Crown shot 28.1% from the field going 16-57 and 13.8% from three point range going 4-29. Crown totaled 14 points in the paint.

Crown will next head to the NCCAA DII National Championship tournament which will be at home in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota. The first games start on March 14th at 1pm. More information regarding match-ups and game times will be announced soon!
