St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the top seeded Champion Christian Tigers on Thursday and came out on top 85-72.
Crown jumped out in front early as they took the 11-6 lead on three triples and a bucket from
Sydney Cotten. With 2:52 to play in the first quarter the Tigers tied the score at 16-16. The Polars jumped back out in front and maintained a lead going into the half with the score at 42-35. Late in the third quarter the Tigers bounced back in front 52-51.
Brayli Reimer finished the quarter with a basket to take the lead back and the Polars slowly stretched the lead in the 4th quarter taking home the win.
Reimer totaled 23 points and 8 rebounds.
McKenzie Latzke totaled 21 points and 3 boards. Cotten added 15 points.
Isabelle Sager grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the Polars in rebounding. 38 points in the paint contributed a large chunk of the Crown offense.
The Polars will next take on Simmons College (KY) on Friday at 7pm with a shot at playing in the NCCAA DII National Title game on the line.
