St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with Simmons College of Kentucky and fell by a score of 70-63.
The first quarter saw an even back and forth game as the score was tied at 13-13 with just over two minutes to go in the quarter. A three from
McKenzie Latzke gave Crown the 20-19 lead after one quarter. The second quarter went Simmons way as they outscored Crown 14-10. Halfway through the third quarter Crown tied up the score at 48-48. An early 4th quarter run from Simmons proved to be too much for Crown as the final score favored Simmons.
Mya Morris scored 18 points to lead Crown. Latzke scored 14 points and
Brayli Reimer got 13 of her own.
Isabelle Sager grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Crown in that statistical category. The Polars turned the ball over 24 times in the contest.
The Polars will next face off with Pensacola Christian at 2pm tomorrow March 16th in the NCCAA DII 3rd place game.
