Former Big Ten Pitcher of the Year Autumn Pease Named Softball Pitching Coach

St. Bonifacius, MN - Former University of Minnesota All American pitcher Autumn Pease was named the Polars pitching coach on February 5, 2023. Pease brings a wealth of playing and private instruction experience to the Crown College staff.

The 2023 Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Year at Minnesota, Pease pitched for the Gophers for four seasons after earning Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year honors at Idaho State in 2019. The righty was a two time All-Big Ten selection and capped her career by being named a second team All-American by both the NFCA and D1 Softball.

"We are beyond thrilled with the addition of Autumn to our coaching staff," said Polars Head Softball Coach Ryan Borde. "For us to bring in someone of her background and pedigree is huge for what we are building here at Crown. Hiring a pitching coach was a top priority for me and we have literally hit a home run with the addition of Autumn. Not only is she a great fit for our staff as a coach, but she is also a great fit from a faith perspective. Our players were ecstatic when they heard she would joining us."

In 2023, Pease went 27-7 with a career best 1.88 ERA and 273 strikeouts in 215 1/3 innings. Over her three-plus seasons at Minnesota, she went 54-26 with a 2.37 ERA.

"I am looking forward to helping these amazing student athletes become the best versions of themselves in all walks of life," said Pease. "As well as bringing a high level of knowledge and personal experience to the athletes."

Originally from Murrietta, California, Pease is also a private pitching coach in the greater Minneapolis area. She is currently completing her degree in Kinesiology at Minnesota.
