Brookings, SD – The Polars Indoor Track and Field teams traveled to South Dakota State on Friday and competed in their first indoor meet of the season.
For the Polars women,
Camille Ring placed 16th in the 60m with a time of 8.25. She also competed in the 60m hurdles where she finished 29th and placed 22nd in the women's 200m.
Ruth Brueckner placed 12th in the 800m run and placed 4th in the mile run with a time of 5:39.02. Freshman
Mia Arroyo finished 9th and set a school record in the Women's 5000m with a time of 20:10.41.
For the Polars men,
Caden Swoboda finished 10th in the 600m posting a time of 1:26.10 good for a new school record. Swoboda also ran the 3000m where he placed 20th.
Andrew Deedon finished 11th in the 600m where he finished with a time of 1:26.11, just behind Swoboda. Deedon also finished 10th in the 3000m where he put up a time of 9:17.11.
Alexander Burnham set a new school record in the shotput with a distance of 13.44m.
Austin Carlson finished 4th in the 1 mile run finishing with a time of 4:27.99. Carlson also placed 13th in the 3000m.
The Polars indoor track and field teams will next head to Northfield, Minnesota to compete at the Ole Opener at St. Olaf on January 18th.
